An Ibanez serial number can tell you two things, year of manufacture and factory [or country] of manufacture. There is no master list to correlate to a model number, these are consecutive serialized numbers only. If you're trying to figure out what model something is from the serial number, figure out what year it is then go to the catalog library for the corresponding year [or year before or after] to find the model. Some models will never be found in the catalogs, that's just the way it is.

Before 1975 Ibanez did not put serial numbers on their guitars. Most just bore a neck plate simply marked Japan. The only way to date these guitars is to find out what years they were available and then comparing all the minute details like scripts, contours, and inlay variances that only the hardcore vintage gurus know. These guitars can be dated by their electronics if they are original. Here is the breakdown courtesy of Ibanez Collectors World.

Until 1977 Maxon used 5 digit serials:
1st character is a production code (1,2,3, etc., maybe related to different production location)
2nd character indicates the year of production (2=1972, 3=1973, etc.)
3rd character indicates the month of production (0=January, 1=February, .. 9=October, .=November, X=December)
4th and 5th character is the day of production (01 to 31)

Although guitars already had serials from 1975, between 1977 and 1982 they used a 6 character serial on pickups:
1st character is a production code (1,2,3, etc., maybe related to different production location)
2nd character indicates the year of production (7=1977, 0=1980, 1=1981, etc.)
3rd and 4th character indicates the month of production (01=January, .. 12=December)
5th and 6th character is the day of production (01 to 31)

1975 - Present, This old style serial number will either be on the neck plate or impressed into the back of the headstock. It consists of a letter, A - L, followed by a 6 digit number. The letter stands for the month, A for January etc., the first 2 digits will be the year, 76 is 1976, 96 is 1996, the last 4 digits will be the consecutive production number for that months production, 1356 would be the 1356th guitar produced that month. This form of serial numbering is still used today on guitars where the number is impressed into the back of the headstock. A761356 - The 1356th guitar produced in January '76

1987 - Present - These serial numbers will either be on the neck plate or on a serial sticker affixed to the back of the headstock, with some models still following the impressed old school serial numbers shown above. There are many variables of numbering through these years and between different models and are broken down into 3 categories, stickers, plates, and the impressed numbers that follow the old school style detailed above.

1997 - Present - Under the old numbering scheme 1997 would show duplicate numbers to 1987 so the serial number was changed to the F and 7 digits, now the first 2 denoting year of production. F98***** is a guitar built by Fujigen in 1998. The last 5 numbers will be the consecutive number denoting production count for the year with the caveat that each month will start at predetermined intervals of 3000 or 5000, etc. Presently it is set at 3000. With production year beginning in November - 00000～02999 - November, 03000～05999 - December, 06000～08999 - January, 09000～11999 - February, 12000～14999 - March etc.

Factories - Shown as F for Fujigen in the examples above, other factories used that mainly produced the budget models were C for Cort [Korea], S for Samick [Korea], W for World [Korea], and guitars are also built in I Indonesia, China, and who knows where else. These serial numbers are usually quite different from the MIJ numbers, have many extra digits because of the enormous volume of guitars produced, and I am not familiar enough with any of them to tell you how to figure out the dating.

Cort Serial Numbers - Cort serial numbers are denoted with a C prefix followed by either 7 or 8 digits. I'm not sure what year the changeover occurred but using the formula it will be easy for you to tell. A 7 digit number example - C5030567 - translates, 5 = 1995, 03 = 3rd month [March], 0567 = 567th guitar built in March 1995. An 8 digit number example - C03114373 - translates, 03 = 2003, 11 = 11th month [November], 4373 = 4373rd guitar built in November 2003.

      Each channel has a frequency timer which clocks a waveform generator. The waveform's volume is adjusted and fed to the mixer.       A timer generates an output clock every N input clocks, where N is the timer's period. If a timer's rate is given as a frequency, its period is 4194304/frequency in Hz. Each timer has an internal counter that is decremented on each input clock. When the counter becomes zero, it is reloaded with the period and an output clock is generated.

      The frame sequencer generates low frequency clocks for the modulation units. It is clocked by a 512 Hz timer.

      A length counter disables a channel when it decrements to zero. It contains an internal counter and enabled flag. Writing a byte to NRx1 loads the counter with 64-data (256-data for wave channel). The counter can be reloaded at any time.

      A channel is said to be disabled when the internal enabled flag is clear. When a channel is disabled, its volume unit receives 0, otherwise its volume unit receives the output of the waveform generator. Other units besides the length counter can enable/disable the channel as well.

      Each length counter is clocked at 256 Hz by the frame sequencer. When clocked while enabled by NRx4 and the counter is not zero, it is decremented. If it becomes zero, the channel is disabled.

      A volume envelope has a volume counter and an internal timer clocked at 64 Hz by the frame sequencer. When the timer generates a clock and the envelope period is not zero, a new volume is calculated by adding or subtracting (as set by NRx2) one from the current volume. If this new volume within the 0 to 15 range, the volume is updated, otherwise it is left unchanged and no further automatic increments/decrements are made to the volume until the channel is triggered again.

      When the waveform input is zero the envelope outputs zero, otherwise it outputs the current volume.

      Writing to NRx2 causes obscure effects on the volume that differ on different Game Boy models (see obscure behavior).

      A square channel's frequency timer period is set to (2048-frequency)*4. Four duty cycles are available, each waveform taking 8 frequency timer clocks to cycle through:

      The first square channel has a frequency sweep unit, controlled by NR10. This has a timer, internal enabled flag, and frequency shadow register. It can periodically adjust square 1's frequency up or down.

      During a trigger event, several things occur:

      • Square 1's frequency is copied to the shadow register.
      • The sweep timer is reloaded.
      • The internal enabled flag is set if either the sweep period or shift are non-zero, cleared otherwise.
      • If the sweep shift is non-zero, frequency calculation and the overflow check are performed immediately.

      Frequency calculation consists of taking the value in the frequency shadow register, shifting it right by sweep shift, optionally negating the value, and summing this with the frequency shadow register to produce a new frequency. What is done with this new frequency depends on the context.

      The overflow check simply calculates the new frequency and if this is greater than 2047, square 1 is disabled.

      The sweep timer is clocked at 128 Hz by the frame sequencer. When it generates a clock and the sweep's internal enabled flag is set and the sweep period is not zero, a new frequency is calculated and the overflow check is performed. If the new frequency is 2047 or less and the sweep shift is not zero, this new frequency is written back to the shadow frequency and square 1's frequency in NR13 and NR14, then frequency calculation and overflow check are run AGAIN immediately using this new value, but this second new frequency is not written back.

      Square 1's frequency can be modified via NR13 and NR14 while sweep is active, but the shadow frequency won't be affected so the next time the sweep updates the channel's frequency this modification will be lost.

      The noise channel's frequency timer period is set by a base divisor shifted left some number of bits.

      Proposed Mechanism of Action and Rationale for Use in Patients With COVID-19

      Ivermectin acts by inhibiting the host importin alpha/beta-1 nuclear transport proteins, which are part of a key intracellular transport process that viruses hijack to enhance infection by suppressing the host antiviral response.3 Ivermectin is therefore a host-directed agent, which is likely the basis for its broad-spectrum activity in vitro against the viruses that cause dengue, Zika, HIV, and yellow fever.3-6

      Recommendation

      • The COVID-19 Treatment Guidelines Panel recommends against the use of ivermectin for the treatment of COVID-19, except in a clinical trial (AIII).

      Rationale

      Ivermectin has been shown to inhibit the replication of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) in cell cultures.7 However, pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic studies suggest that achieving the plasma concentrations necessary for the antiviral efficacy detected in vitro would require administration of doses up to 100-fold higher than those approved for use in humans.8,9 Even though ivermectin appears to accumulate in the lung tissue, predicted systemic plasma and lung tissue concentrations are much lower than 2 µM, the half-maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50) against SARS-CoV-2 in vitro.10,11

      Ivermectin is not approved for the treatment of any viral infection, including SARS-CoV-2 infection. The FDA issued a warning in April 2020 that ivermectin intended for use in animals should not be used to treat COVID-19 in humans.

The secondary outcomes included mortality in patients with severe disease (defined as 'need for either FiO2 ≥50% or noninvasive or invasive mechanical ventilation') and extubation rates in those who were mechanically ventilated.12

      Results

      • Ivermectin administration was reportedly consistent with hospital guidelines: a single dose of 200 µg/kg, with repeat dosing on Day 7 if the patient was still hospitalized (13 patients received a second dose). Ninety percent of the ivermectin group and 97% of the usual care group received hydroxychloroquine (the majority received hydroxychloroquine in conjunction with azithromycin).
      • All-cause mortality was lower among the patients in the ivermectin group than among patients in the usual care group (OR 0.27; P = 0.03). The mortality benefit appeared to be limited to the subgroup of patients with severe disease.
      • There was no difference between the groups for the median length of hospital stay (7 days in both groups) or the proportion of mechanically ventilated patients who were successfully extubated (36% in the ivermectin group vs. 15% in the usual care group; P = 0.07).

      • This was a retrospective analysis.

        You can copy/paste files in the Finder, and Apple-backspace deletes them. I use BBEdit for quick viewing of invisible files, but the terminal might suit you better. Dmg mori parts. I’m sure others will know of better GUI utilities for this. Good luck!

        My travel was somewhat limited for years, as I was focusing on child rearing. I did do a lot of traveling on the west coast and when I would be on the road I immediately switched into adventure mode, which is surely a different way of being, from the daily grind. And I also loved to listen to other people’s travels and live vicariously through them. I was endlessly intrigued by the interesting people to meet and things to do and places to see, that were decidedly all very different from Oregon. I felt like traveling transported me to a different reality and had the potential for much more.

        In my late 30’s, I made the shift from child rearer to empty nester and the urge and desires that had been stewing for years inside of me were eager to get expressed. And so, I have dedicated to myself to get off of local soil at least a few times a year. My homebody personality does not allow me to take four to six month long trips through a couple continents. I crave a bit more structure than that. But one to four weeks at a time, I have been exploring different countries and continents and different parts of the US and different parts of Oregon. The US is so large, there is endless exploration to be had there. Heck, Alaska is so large, there is endless exploration to be had, there alone. For me, I have found the sweet spot, and that is about three to four trips a year. It provides me with the perfect balance of stability and adventure.

        Winbond semiconductor. Have you ever seen those long web pages where different animations are being applied as you scroll down? I’d like to share with you a plugin I wrote that makes it really easy to handle all kinds of animations with full CSS control and no pain.

        The Problem With Other Libraries

        In my previous company we were using WOW.js (or other similar libraries) to animate elements on scroll. For simple projects it was quite nice, but on larger sites we wanted to have more control over what’s actually happening. In all of popular libraries, animations were completely handled by JavaScript by inserting inline CSS. Arghgh! Inline styles are evil. They are hard to control and override. Though, in some cases it’s ok to set them using JavaScript, it’s still much cleaner to just leave them where they belong and handle all CSS related things inside CSS file.

        I decided to create a library that has a pure goal – detect position of elements and then add appropriate classes when they appear in viewport.

        Controlling Animations Entirely in CSS

        I wanted to split the responsibilities with my new library:

        • Have all the logic inside the JavaScript
        • Have all the animations in the CSS

        This allows you to add your own animations easily, and do things like change them according to the viewport.

        How AOS Works

        The idea behind AOS is straightforward: watch all elements and their positions based on settings you provide them. Then add/remove the class aos-animate. Of course, in practice, it’s not always that easy, but the idea behind AOS is as simple as that. Every aspect of animation is handled by CSS.

        The are lots of different animations ready to use out of the box, but creating new ones is simple also. Here’s an example:

        You don’t have to worry about duration or delay. In the CSS, you only:

        • add styles for the attribute aos with the name of your animation
        • set the transition-property (by default this is all, so it’s more performant and more predictable if you narrow the transition to the intended properties)
        • add the post-transition properties on .aos-animate

        Things like duration/delay/easing are set independently of the animation.

        • anchor placement – Animate an element based on it’s position on the screen. It doesn’t have to animate only when it appears in viewport, but for example when bottom part of it hits middle of the screen
        • both way animations – By default elements animate while you scroll up and down, but you can force it to animate only once
        • easy disabling – Disable animations on mobile devices using predefined options like mobile, phone, tablet or with a custom condition/function
        • async aware – Recalculates positions of elements on DOM changes, so after loading something using Ajax, you don’t have to worry about anything (unless you support IE9, because it needs mutation observer)
        • no dependencies – This library is written in pure JS and doesn’t rely on any dependencies

        Hardware support in the older PPC G4 Mac computer should be considered, in order
        to have the better experience possible with the Linux-based OS; and some specs in
        an old Mac may not be ideal. The graphics processor unit and amount of dedicated
        RAM for the graphics alone, could make a difference; depending on what you had in
        mind when running a Linux-based OS in a PPC Mac. So consider hardware specs.
        Some hardware in the computer may or may not be supported by the Software; and
        then, there may be some problems implementing a Linux OS version in your Mac.

        You may not have enough room on the existing internal hard disk drive inside the
        iMac G4, for a complete OS X 10.3.9 or Later OS X, and a partition for Linux in it.
        And, you may find through reading further, if you need to (or don't) start fresh and
        have a partition for each different OS, or not. For organizational purposes and ease
        of removing one system or the other, a partitioned hard disk drive may be best.
        There probably is a way to have Linux on an external bootable hard disk drive; &
        that would have to be compatible with the Mac hardware requirements to be seen
        and used by the computer, and also the ability to restart from Linux into Mac OS X
        would have to exist in the system software. Hopefully without incident.
        You will have some degree of a learning curve in this matter, from reading up on
        the details of any viable Linux versions, through the ones likely to work in your
        old PPC G4 Mac, and then if there are more than two or three good ones, of those
        what one would be most likely to be worth the additional effort to attempt to use in it.
        Depending on the version and specifications of your iMac G4 computer, there could
        be different versions of linux systems capable of running it. However, some items
        may not be supported which you would need to have working, such as wi-fi internet
        and sleep mode, etc; among others. Searching the net does bring up more info.
        {You may find, that going to OS X 10.4.11 would be more worth the effort, in that
        most everything would 'just work' and you can still find many good software bits
        and some fine freeware or low cost shareware to run on it. Linux versions vary
        so much on what they can and cannot do, I would not recommend running it.}
        Since I am not an expert in the matter, hopefully someone with a experimental time
        and results in a similar vintage Mac as yours will reply and give you insightful info.

        On occasion you may want to exchange data with someone else. You’d like to grant that person access to your system (or network) but in such a way that the person has limited access to other areas of the system (or general resources on your network). This article will show you how to setup a chrooted jail that restricts the user to only SFTP on Mac OS X Leopard. It further limits the user so that they cannot traverse the filesystem outside the bounds you specify.

        All commands are performed as root (or via sudo). If root is disabled on your system, you can use sudo or ‘sudo su’ to root.

        An important restriction for this to work, is that where ever your files exist on the computer the path to those files must be owned and only be writable by root. A simple example:

        /foo

        For this example we’ll use /Volumes/Storage. (Note, you can do this via symlinks too, but for now, we’ll just use the disk structure that Mac OS X sets up on disk insertion).

        Make a directory for your user:

        The above does the following:

        1) Create a path to the general storage location that only root can modify. (this will not work, if this isn’t true, the connection will outright fail).

        2) Create a directory that bubbrubb owns and can write to. We restrict the other permissions so that only user bubbrubb can read and write there (you could log into the server using bubbrubbs account OR modify the group permissions so that others accounts in that group can read and write there too). The important part is that all folders leading up to that one are writable only by root.

        SSH Remote Access

        First test that the user account you want to restrict can ssh into your system. If that works, then continue. If not, figure out why, then:
